Image Research: Environment Conditions Ice & Snow

Here are various images from the internet of Icy & Mountainous Landscapes.

Icebergs
Frozen Waterfall
I love the stalag tights of frozen water here, it is almost like a frozen sculpture with interesting flowing shapes. The way in which a layer of snow tops the blue ice is quite beautiful.

Ice
The shapes of the ice above is amazing. I love the flowing shapes and patterns of naturally sculpted ice.

Glacial Crevasse
The colours here are truly beautiful as the light hits this crevasse. As it gets deeper the pale blue becomes a much deeper and darker blue.

Glacier
The shear scale has always fascinated me when it comes to glaciers. In all the images above I find the different layers interesting. it is a sandwich of rock earth and ice. The pale luminous blue is what really catches my eye.

Mountains

All the images above of mountains caught my eye. I find the shapes of mountains truly awe inspiring. I love their jagged shapes, however the snow helps to give form to their immense structures.

This is another idea we had for a potential landscape/ environment for our mining facility project. If we could make the Mountainous environment look convincing within Maya, it could look very impressive indeed. I love the contrast between the blue and white of the snow compared to the browns and greys of the jagged pointy rocks. An alpine landscape to me is very idilc and majestic. The shear scale of these mountains are so imposing and vast to comprehend. What might be effective is if we incorporate the relationship between the mining facility and its surrounding environment, we could even imply that the mining activities are having a negative effect on the environment.
